The Réseau, in collaboration with its partners, plans, networks and engages communities to improve access and equity to French Language health services.
The Réseau is a recognized pillar and proactive player in promoting the offer of French Language Health Services
The Réseau du mieux-être francophone du Nord de l’Ontario is responsible to provide advice on planning and engagement with health service providers and the community.
We do this by:
- assessing the current situation of French language health services
- determine the needs
- engage the Francophone community
- plan to improve access to French language health services
- act as a French language services resource for health service providers
- network and build sustainable partnerships
The following video provides an overview of the role of the Réseau:

The Réseau was created to meet the requirements of the MOHLTC for a French Language Planning Entity in Northern Ontario, as identified in the Local Health System Integration Act (2006).
As a French Language Planning Health Entity, the Réseau has a clear mandate to advise the North East and the North West LHINs on all questions related to health care for Francophones living in Northern Ontario.
One of the responsibilities of the Réseau is to find ways of engaging the Francophone community of Northern Ontario. To meet this goal, the Réseau created the Carrefours santé (Health Hubs) to encourage citizen involvement in the planning of health services in French for Francophones.
The Réseau also works with existing community groups and tables to seek community input on the planning of health services for Francophones.
