Pay-for-Results rewards hospitals for meeting specific ER wait time reduction targets. This year, 71 Ontario hospitals will receive Pay-for-Results funding including four larger hospitals in the North East.
After a three-year process, historic resolutions were signed today in Moosonee, Ontario confirming commitment to integrate the provincial James Bay General Hospital and the federal Weeneebayko Health Ahtuskaywin into the new Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA).
Thanks to support from the NE LHIN’s Aging at Home strategy, one regional hospital is experiencing a reduction in the number of ALC patients. Often elderly, ALC patients stay in a hospital bed long after their acute care treatment is over because there is no place for them to go.
