Louise Paquette
Chief Executive Officer
Louise Paquette began her career as the Manager of Communications for Gulf Canada Limited, and went on to become the first Public Relations Director for Sudbury’s Laurentian Hospital. She then transitioned to become the Executive Director of the Laurentian Hospital Foundation and assumed responsibility for 120 volunteers and reporting to a 24 member community board.
Louise accepted the position of Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Administrative Officer of Ontario’s Ministry of Northern Development and Mines from 1992 to 1996 and was the reigning Director of FedNor, which manages the federal government’s investment in community development in Northern Ontario.
In 2007, Louise was honored with the Woman of the Decade award in recognition of her extensive career and volunteer experience along with her drive to succeed at whatever challenge is laid before her.
In March of 2010, Louise accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer for the North East Local Health Integration Network.
Terry Tilleczek
Sr. Director - Planning, Integration and Community Engagement
Terry Tilleczek joined the NE LHIN in September 2006 and has been involved in health services planning in Northeastern Ontario for 18 years.
As Executive Director for nine years of the Algoma, Cochrane, Manitoulin and Sudbury District Health Council, Terry provided leadership to numerous district and regional planning and integration initiatives. In June 2005, Terry joined the North Region Branch of the of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as a consultant where he developed and implemented the North Region Branch’s Hospital Annual Planning Submissions (HAPS) consultation process, and worked with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) to develop a process to determine the capital implications of NOSM’s distributed learning model on Northern Ontario hospitals.
Terry holds a bachelor of arts degree from Wilfred Laurier University and a master of arts degree from the University of Toronto.
Martha Auchinleck
Sr. Director - Performance, Contracts and Allocations
Martha Auchinleck brings wide-ranging health care financial experience to her role from many years in hospital and ministry sectors.
Martha spent 18 years as an accountant at Sudbury Regional Hospital and was part of the original group that implemented the Meditech system for the NEON group. She began work for the Ministry of Health as a Financial Consultant in 2000 with responsibility for monitoring financial aspects of the 39 northern hospitals. Martha was part of the Ministry team responsible for capital projects at Sudbury Regional Hospital, Sault Area Hospital, North Bay General Hospital, Thunder Bay Regional Hospital and Sioux Lookout Hospital. She became Finance Manager of the North Regional Office in 2004 with responsibility for overseeing funding for hospitals, long-term care facilities and mental health agencies in Northern Ontario. Martha was part of the Ministry team that successfully negotiated 39 Hospital Accountability Agreements in 2005/06. She was also a member of the James Bay Integration steering committee.
A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Martha joined the NE LHIN in September 2006.
Tamara Shewciw
Chief Information Officer
Tamara Shewciw is responsible for the development and implementation of eHealth across the entire health system in the North East LHIN. Tamara provides leadership and strategic direction to the NE LHIN, including the coordination of key stakeholders planning and engagement related to eHealth.
Tamara comes to us from the Group Health Centre in Sault Ste. Marie where she was part of the Senior Executive team. There, Tamara championed Information and Communication Technology (ICT) throughout the organization, increasing the effectiveness of ICT and achieving the ultimate goal of optimizing clinical and business outcomes. The Group Health Centre’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system was implemented in 1997 and is one of Canada’s largest primary care databases, with over 60,000 comprehensive patient records.
Tamara is a graduate of Laurentian University in Sudbury with a Bachelor of Commerce. Tamara has over 25 years experience in ICT, with the last 17 years being in the health care sector. She participates in regional, provincial and national committees within the health ICT sector and countless speaker presentations on the successes of e-health. She is the current Ontario Local Health Integration Networks (LHIN) e-Health Lead representing the North Eastern Ontario LHIN.
Cynthia Stables
Senior Corporate Advisor
Cynthia Stables is the communications lead for the North East LHIN and is responsible for leading internal and external communications activities and implementing strategic communications plans in support of NE LHIN-led projects.
A graduate of the University of Ottawa, Cynthia has worked in various aspects of the field of communications for more than twenty years. In Ottawa, she worked in a number of senior positions and left the City of Ottawa as the Manager of Corporate Communications in 2001. In North East Ontario, Cynthia has consulted privately with clients from across the region including municipalities, school boards, and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine where she led the School’s communications initiatives during their inaugural year. Her experiences includes issues management, strategic communications planning and internal communications.
Karen Pine Cheechoo
Senior Aboriginal/First Nation/Métis Advisor
Formerly the Director of White Buffalo Youth Lodge, Karen managed an integration team that focused on the needs of youth and families in the inner city of Saskatoon. Upon leaving this position, Karen had instituted research on health issues and was in the process of integrating a teaching and outreach clinic with the Saskatchewan School of Medicine.
