NE LHIN eHealth Advisory Council
To date, the Northern Ontario eHealth Project Management Office (PMO) has become widely regarded as a highly successful enterprise that has made significant contributions to the advancement of eHealth in Northern Ontario. However, as a result of the growth in provincial support of eHealth in Ontario, and following extensive consultation between North East and North West LHIN staff, PMO staff and ministry partners, the NE and NW founding partners have decided to form two respective eHealth PMOs.
Membership
In support of this priority and new structure, the North East eHealth Advisory Council (NEEAC) was recently formed and includes membership from various health service providers across the North East.

An inaugural meeting with the North East LHIN eHealth Advisory Council was held Wednesday December 16th, 2009. Health Service Providers from Northeastern Ontario met to discuss current eHealth activities in the NE LHIN, to review the tactical plan and strategic eHealth documents, as well as to learn about Provincial and Federal eHealth initiatives.
The Council is an important component to ensure the overall success of the provincial eHealth strategy and regional strategies in the North East. They will also provide a system level perspective to the North East LHIN on information and communication technology and eHealth, priorities and initiatives in the North East. The Council will meet regularly and will provide updates to health service providers.
